As we grapple with the weight of the terror which grows with each passing moment of Israel's siege on Gaza, our latest exhibit remains open to the public. The 'Gaza Calling' exhibit highlights the modern history of the region and its traditional textiles along with the display of the iconic Intifada dress.
Mandeely Ya Mandeely: A Tribute to Maryam and Abdullah, the Martyr Bride and Groom of Gaza
The display is dedicated to Maryam and Abdullah, who were killed by an air strike at the hands of the Israeli Occupation Forces two days after their wedding. The exhibit features the traditional dress of Qastina village, which was depopulated in 1948, and traditional bridal handkerchiefs crafted by women in Gaza Refugee Camp in Jordan.
