Ten Palestinian embroiderers and one Irish tailor transform pain into art. Working with linen, cotton, and sheep’s wool, they create pieces of testimony, remembrance, and truth—honouring those who document reality with courage in the darkest of times. The exhibition presents a series of press jackets dedicated to the more than 200 journalists killed in Gaza. Hanging alongside the jackets is a long list bearing the names of the journalists, ensuring that they are honoured by name. The exhibition brings together the work of Lou McGowan, an Irish tailor-artist, community worker and researcher from Belfast and Mutarizat Al Salam, a collective of Palestinian embroiderers based in Gaza Refugee Camp, Jerash, Jordan.
